Publication Ethics

EDEWLEISS: Journal of Innovation in Educational Research, with E-ISSN: 3021-7717 (Online)  is published with the aim of enhancing the quality of knowledge and providing a platform for academics, students, practitioners, and knowledge enthusiasts to share and disseminate their research. The editorial board welcomes research articles related to research in Educational Field. The journal is published quaterly, in January, July, September and December.

The statement of ethical code for scientific publication in this journal is based on the Head of LIPI Regulation No. 5 of 2014 on the Code of Ethics for Scientific Publications. The publication ethics are norms that must be adhered to by authors who intend to publish their scientific work in a publication medium, including:

Morality: Being able to distinguish between good and bad behavior in writing.
Scientific Integrity: Upholding the principles, nature, and truth of science, without compromising them for any interest.
Neutrality: Free from conflicts of interest in managing publications.
Fairness: Giving authorship rights to those who are entitled to be authors.
Honesty: Free from duplication, fabrication, falsification, and plagiarism (DF2P) in publication.

Disclosure and Conflict of Interest

Unpublished materials disclosed in a submitted article must not be used in the editor's own research without the express written consent of the author.

Duties and Responsibilities of the Editor-in-Chief

  • Determine the journal's name, scientific scope, frequency, and accreditation if necessary.
  • Determine the membership of the editorial board.
  • Define the relationship between the publisher, editor, reviewers, and other parties.
  • Respect confidentiality in all matters related to contributing researchers, authors, editors, and reviewers.
  • Apply norms and rules regarding intellectual property rights, particularly copyright.
  • Review the journal's policies and convey them to authors, editors, reviewers, and readers.
  • Develop a code of conduct for editors and reviewers.
  • Publish the journal regularly.
  • Ensure the availability of funding sources for the sustainability of the journal.
  • Build networks for cooperation and marketing.
  • Enhance the quality of the journal.
  • Prepare necessary permits and legal aspects.

Duties and Responsibilities of Editors

  • Provide feedback on the author's work to ensure that readers understand what the author intends to convey through the comments made on the article.
  • Provide feedback on the author's work according to Indonesian language standards or the language standards of the journal.
  • Strive for continuous improvement in publication quality.
  • Prioritize freedom of expression objectively.
  • Issue corrections, clarifications, retractions, and apologies when necessary.
  • Ensure that the author's work does not involve issues of ethnicity, religion, race, and intergroup relations (SARA) or anything that could harm the publisher and coordinate the author's work with the editor-in-chief if it is slightly controversial.
  • Receive, review, and address complaints from all parties involved in the journal publication.
  • Support initiatives to educate researchers on publication ethics.
  • Refrain from maintaining their own opinions, those of the author, or third parties that could result in biased decisions.
  • Encourage authors to improve their work to the point of being publishable.
  • Ensure that the article layout conforms to the journal's template.
  • Assist the editor-in-chief in finalizing the collection of articles before printing and publishing, especially in terms of language, format, and layout.

Duties and Responsibilities of Reviewers

  • Provide written, objective, and unbiased feedback regarding the scientific value and contribution of the article to the development of knowledge.
  • Indicate whether the article is clear, complete, and relevant, and whether it aligns with the scope of the journal.
  • Refrain from providing personal criticism or comments.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of the article by not discussing it with unrelated parties or disclosing the information contained within the article to others.

Author Ethics

The code of ethics that authors must fulfill when publishing their scientific articles in the journal:

  • Authors must uphold scientific conduct and understand the benefits/risks of the work being published.
  • Published articles must be free from misconduct, including fabrication, data falsification, and plagiarism/self-plagiarism.
  • Authors are required to provide adequate citations for all statements, ideas, and data that are not the result of their own research.
  • Published articles must not cause conflicts with specific parties or potentially cause public unrest.
  • The authors listed on the published article must truly be those who are competent and have made a significant contribution to the writing of the article.
  • Authors must not submit the same manuscript to more than one journal or publication medium simultaneously (double manuscript submission).
  • No part or whole of the published article has been previously published in another publication medium.
  • The published article must be original and the result of the author's own research, ideas, or thoughts.

    If the article is accepted, the author is required to complete an Author Statement of Scientific Publication Ethics, signed on a stamp by the first author.
